Weekend Endoscopy Service at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust
Our ID Medical Clinical Services division was set up to help NHS trusts effectively manage their patients’ healthcare pathways and improve patient outcomes. Working in partnership to offer a collaborative and seamless extension to a trust’s existing service, we’re continuing to expand, mobilising this service across the country. Over the coming months, we’d love to share how this helps support waiting time initiatives in multiple specialties.
A strong working partnership
Over the past three years, ID Medical Clinical Services has had the pleasure of working with Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. As part of our continuation of service, we recently won a new, competitive tender. This in itself is unique in that our enhanced level of service goes beyond the traditional level of insourcing.
A full insourcing service
For Salisbury, our ID Medical Clinical Services team covers an entire spectrum of insourcing for Gastroenterology; from booking patients and diagnostics to continuous care, alongside demonstrating value for money. Our focus here is on their requirement for a weekend Endoscopy service over 19th-20th March, which we arranged within 2 weeks.
Our extensive database
Our extensive database of Endoscopy Doctors, Nurses and HCA’s meant we were able to source and deploy two full Endoscopy teams for the required dates. These ID Medial Clinical Services teams consisted of Endoscopists, a Lead Nurse, an Admissions Nurse, In-room Nurses and Recovery Nurses.
A resounding success
Thanks to our wonderful ID Medical Clinical Services teams, we were able to complete a number of procedures. These included Colonoscopies, Flexible Sigmoidoscopies and Oesophago-Gastro-Duodenoscopy (OGD) culminating in 77 JAG points completed in one weekend.
